SEASIDE CHRISTIAN ACADEMY PURPOSE STATEMENT:

            The purpose of Seaside Christian Academy is to extend the ministry of, and to assist in accomplishing the mission and purposes of Seaside Church by providing education through intellectual, physical, social, moral, and spiritual development, as well as family ministry for each student.

            Seaside Christian Academy will seek to provide opportunities for students to grow intellectually through an intensive, well-rounded curriculum; physically through courses in physical education as well as extra-curricular sports opportunities; socially through interaction with other students as well as with adults; and morally and spiritually through a Bible-based curriculum, chapel opportunities, and the example of Christian teachers and staff. 

 

MISSION STATEMENT:

            Seaside Christian Academy exists to prepare students for life as Christian leaders who:

1.      Follow Jesus as Lord and encourage others to do the same;

2.      Actively learn and grow in character as well as career;

3.      Creatively serve others before self; and

4.      Relate socially to others with respect, integrity, and compassion.

 

REGISTRATION, TUITION, AND DAY CARE INFORMATION

FOR 2008-2009 SCHOOL YEAR 

A student is not considered registered until completed registration forms and fees are received in the office.

Registration will not be accepted from families with delinquent accounts.

New or returning families who wish to register a NEW student are required to meet with the Principal and provide child’s current report card/grades, achievement test scores, birth certificate from the Bureau of Vital Statistics (not the hospital record) and immunization records.  Both parent/guardian and child are required to attend this meeting.

TUITION IS DUE ON THE FIRST DAY OF EACH MONTH AND IS PAYABLE IN TEN INSTALLMENTS FROM AUGUST THRU MAY.  A $25.00 LATE FEE IS ASSESSED AFTER THE TENTH OF THE MONTH.

REGISTRATION FEE FOR 2008-2009 IS $100 PER STUDENT IN ORDER TO HOLD THAT STUDENT’S PLACE

 

2008/2009 TUITION RATES

REGULAR RATE Pre-Kindergarten through Grade 12:

             1 child                  $ 3,000.00              

2 children            $ 5,700.00

3 children            $ 8,400.00

A LIMITED NUMBER OF SCHOLARSHIPS MAY BE AVAILABLE BASED ON STUDENT NEED

 

TEXTBOOKS AND STUDENT MATERIALS FEES:  The ABeka curriculum and textbooks will be used throughout all grade levels, Pre-kindergarten through twelfth grade.  Textbook, materials, and lab fees will be assessed based on subjects for which the individual student is enrolled.  Costs will vary depending in what subject the student is taking.  These fees are in addition to regular tuition charged per student. 

Classes run from 8:00 A.M. to 2:30 P.M. Monday through Friday.

OUR STAFF:

Ollie Collins has more than twenty-five years of teaching experience, and retired from public education upon taking his position as headmaster at Seaside Christian Academy. He holds a bachelor’s degree in chemistry from the university of South Florida and a master’s degree in Education from Stephen F. Austin State University. He serves both as headmaster and teacher of science and math.

 

Kay Collins holds a bachelor’s degree in education from Missouri Valley College and a master’s degree in counseling from the University of Missouri at St Louis. Kay has taught in public schools for a number of years. She currently teaches Spanish and English.

 

 

Kelley Vaughan has been pastor of Seaside Christian Academy’s affiliated Seaside Church for twelve years. Before coming to Seaside, he graduated from Houston Baptist University with majors in Christianity, sociology, and recreation. He received a master’s degree in  religious education from Southwestern Seminary and completed further studies at Southwestern in the doctor of education program. He teaches Bible classes and provides service and chapel opportunities.
